The project will be implemented in agricultural cooperatives located in different soil and climate areas of the country with differentiation in the availability of water resources and with different basic crops per region. They will contribute by making pilot plots available for the implementation of the system, in the collection of observations and measurements of production and quality as well as in the dissemination of the project results.

In five pilot fields, three of which are in the Agricultural Cooperative of Subtropical Citrus Producers (ASPEY) in Chania with olives, citrus fruits and avocados, one in the Kalamata Agricultural Cooperative with potato and peanuts and one in the Agrinio at Agricultural Cooperative of Neapolis with kiwi for two consecutive growing seasons, the producers who are members of the cooperatives will apply empirical irrigation practices and advisory irrigation in accordance with the National Agricultural Resources Agency.

The parcels were divided into approximately 2 equal sections and the necessary modifications were made to the irrigation networks so that each section was irrigated separately and the amount of irrigation water was recorded. One section was irrigated empirically by the producer (EA) and the other according to the advice from the ZenIrriware software.

In each area (Chania, Kalamata, Agrinio) a M/S with or without a solar panel was installed for the operation of the M/S and the smart E/Bs. Soil and water analyses were also carried out for each evidence field, data necessary for the consulting irrigation based on ZenIrriware.
